Königstein is a small town located at the confluence of the Biela and the Elbe rivers in Saxony, Germany. The town is particularly known for its fortress: Königstein Festung, which is one of the largest hilltop fortifications in Europe. Unfortunately, I did not have the chance to visit the castle, due to the late hour I happened there. Though, I found that night stroll around the quiet, old town very pleasant. You’ll see in this album the few photos I took in the while. And you can here read the complete story of that trip to Saxon Switzerland.
