The route from Valtesiniko to Lagadia is one of the longest stages of the Menalon Mountain Trail in Arcadia, Greece. It crosses forests, mountain slopes, and quiet countryside before reaching Lagadia, one of the region’s best-known stone villages. This demanding section rewards hikers with varied landscapes and a strong sense of the wild character that defines much of the Arcadian highlands.
This was the final and longest walk of our multi-day hiking trip along the Menalon Mountain Trail in May 2026. We crossed beautiful natural landscapes and unexpectedly came across a large group of wild boars, but they disappeared before I could photograph them. Near the end of the route, a powerful storm caught us, and we finished the stage in heavy rain.
