Santa Rosa is a small riverside town in Peru’s Loreto region, located directly across the Amazon River from Leticia. It forms part of the tri-border area and is known for its simple layout, local markets, and river-based daily life. The town functions as a quiet stop for travelers moving between Colombia and Peru, offering a glimpse into local culture along the Amazon.
We visited Santa Rosa at the end of our two-day Amazon tour. We walked through the town on a short stroll, passing along its quiet streets. We stopped to eat traditional Peruvian ceviche before heading back to Leticia.
