Salento is a colonial town in Colombia’s Quindío department, located in the heart of the Coffee Triangle. Known for its colorful architecture and proximity to the Cocora Valley, it sits within a landscape of rolling hills and cloud forests. The town’s central square, viewpoints, and surrounding trails make it a popular base for exploring the region.
We stayed in Salento for ten days in February 2026. We walked through Plaza Bolívar, climbed to the Alto de la Cruz viewpoint, and spent time along the town’s streets and forest trails. I took photos during the day and at night, moving between the plaza, the hills above town, and quieter paths nearby.
