After leaving the quiet streets of Santo Antônio, we followed the road north on our scooter and soon reached Praia da Daniela, a peaceful curve of sand tucked into a peninsula at the northwest tip of the island. The beach stretches for about 2 kilometers, framed by low dunes and calm, glassy water that laps at the shore with barely a whisper. Across the bay, the mainland mountains rise in soft blue layers, giving the whole scene a kind of gentle grandeur.

A broad stretch of coastal vegetation separates the beach from the coastal road, giving it a secluded feel even before you reach the sand. Unlike many of Florianópolis’s better-known beaches, Daniela isn’t trying to be anything more than it is. There are a few beach bars and parasol rental spots, but no loud music, no jet skis, no crowds. Just sea, sand, and space to breathe.
The village behind the beach is quiet, with sparse houses (several available for rental) and wide, still streets that feel more residential than touristy. It’s the kind of place made for peaceful holidays—the kind where doing nothing is the point.
We took a slow stroll along the beach, the sun still tucked behind light clouds, and let the calm wash over us. After a little while, we hopped back on the scooter and continued north toward Jurerê and Praia do Forte, letting Daniela fade quietly behind us just as it seemed to prefer.
