A collection of pictures I took in Toamasina, Madagascar. Browse hundreds of more photo albums from my trips around the world using the submenu above or the Photo Albums Map at the bottom of the page.
Toamasina, also known as Tamatave, is Madagascar’s main seaport and the capital city of the Atsinanana region, situated on the island’s eastern coast. As the country’s principal port city, Toamasina plays a pivotal role in Madagascar’s economy, facilitating maritime trade, commerce, and transportation activities. Beyond its commercial significance, Toamasina offers visitors a blend of colonial architecture, bustling markets, and coastal landscapes. The city’s cultural diversity, historical landmarks, and proximity to scenic beaches make it a dynamic urban center and gateway to eastern Madagascar’s diverse attractions.
