A collection of pictures I took in Port Louis, Mauritius. Browse hundreds of more photo albums from my trips around the world using the submenu above or the Photo Albums Map at the bottom of the page.
Port Louis, the bustling capital city of Mauritius, is a vibrant mix of cultures, history, and modernity. Located on the northwest coast, the city is the economic and administrative heart of the island. Visitors can explore the lively Central Market, where a variety of local produce, spices, and handicrafts are on offer. The city is also home to several historical sites, including the 19th-century Aapravasi Ghat, a UNESCO World Heritage site that commemorates the arrival of indentured laborers. The Caudan Waterfront, with its array of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options, offers a modern contrast to the city’s rich historical tapestry.
