Black River Peak, also known as Piton de la Petite Rivière Noire, is the highest point in Mauritius, standing at 828 meters above sea level. Located within the Black River Gorges National Park, the peak offers challenging hiking trails that reward climbers with spectacular views of the island and the Indian Ocean. The trail to the summit passes through dense forests and rugged terrain, providing opportunities to spot native wildlife and enjoy the island’s natural beauty. The hike is a must for adventurers seeking a unique perspective of Mauritius.
