Parque Arví is a large ecological nature reserve located on the eastern edge of Medellín, Colombia, accessible by road and public transport from the city. Covering thousands of hectares, it protects native forest, rural landscapes, and archaeological traces from pre-Hispanic times. The park is known for its network of walking trails, cool climate, and quieter atmosphere compared to the urban valley below, offering a contrast between Medellín’s dense cityscape and the surrounding highland environment.
We visited on a day trip by bus during our weeklong stay in Medellín and spent a couple of hours walking through the area. We followed the trails at an easy pace, moving through quiet stretches of forest and open spaces. We had lunch at the restaurant by the entrance before heading back.
