Murillo is a small mountain town in Tolima, located near the foothills of Nevado del Ruiz. Surrounded by high-altitude landscapes, it serves as a quiet base for exploring páramo terrain and nearby natural sites. The town itself is modest, with a central square and simple streets shaped by its remote setting.
We stayed here for a night during our March 2026 road trip. In the night, we walked through the streets and around the central park, then returned again in the morning for another slow pass. We set out toward Cascada El Silencio but found the access blocked, turning back and continuing our walk through town instead.
