Medellín, Antioquia, Colombia (2026) – Photos

Medellín is Colombia’s second-largest city, set in the Aburrá Valley and surrounded by steep green mountains in the department of Antioquia. Once defined by its industrial base, it has transformed into a cultural and urban center known for public art, transport innovation, and dense, active neighborhoods. Areas like La Candelaria form the historic core, while landmarks such as Plaza Botero and Pueblito Paisa reflect both the city’s artistic identity and its regional heritage, with views and street life shaping much of the experience.

We stayed for about a week in February 2026, based in La Candelaria, and spent our days moving through the center on foot. We walked across Plaza Botero, went up to Pueblito Paisa, and passed through busy streets filled with constant movement. Over the week, it became one of my favorite cities, and I felt that connection build quickly as we explored.
