Manizales is a major city in Colombia’s Coffee Triangle, located in the department of Caldas and set along steep Andean ridges. Known for its universities, cultural life, and proximity to Los Nevados National Natural Park, the city offers wide views of the surrounding mountains. Its elevated position often brings shifting weather and expansive vistas.
We drove through Manizales during our March 2026 road trip. From the car, we caught brief glimpses of the city as it unfolded along the hillsides. I took a few photos along the way, holding onto passing views rather than stopping for long.
