The trail from Magouliana to Valtesiniko is a relatively short section of the Menalon Mountain Trail in Arcadia, Greece, passing through high mountain scenery, fir forests, and open meadows. In late spring, the landscape fills with wildflowers, while small stone chapels and churches along the route reflect the area’s long rural and religious traditions. The combination of forest and open countryside makes this one of the most varied stretches of the trail.
As part of our multi-day hike along the Menalon Mountain Trail in May 2026, we completed this section in about three hours. We crossed beautiful May meadows before returning to the shade of the fir forest, stopping briefly at several small stone churches along the way. The changing scenery made the walk feel longer than its distance suggested.
