Lagadia is a historic mountain village in Arcadia, Greece, renowned for its stone-built houses that climb the hillside overlooking a deep valley. Often considered one of the most picturesque villages in the Peloponnese, it has long served as an important stop for visitors exploring the Menalon region. Its traditional streets, local shops, and mountain setting make it a memorable destination at the end of a hiking journey.
We reached Lagadia at the end of our multi-day hike along the Menalon Mountain Trail in May 2026 after walking through an intense storm. The village had lost power, so we spent some time in a traditional local products shop, where the owner brewed coffee on a gas stove while we dried ourselves and our gear. Once the rain eased, we called a taxi back to our car and began the drive to Athens.
