Honda is a historic river town in Tolima, located along the Magdalena River. Once a key port during colonial and early republican times, it is known for its network of bridges, warm climate, and preserved architecture. Landmarks like Puente Navarro and the old streets reflect its role as a transport hub in earlier centuries.
We stayed here for a night during our March 2026 road trip. In the morning, we walked through Parque José León Armero and past the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary, then continued to the Plaza del Mercado and the Alfonso López Pumarejo house. We checked out Puente Navarro and followed Calle de las Trampas, letting the town unfold before leaving in the afternoon.
