After Buenos Aires and Rosario, the third destination of our 2025 trip through northern Argentina was the city of Córdoba. Out of the various bus companies operating routes between Rosario and Córdoba, we booked a morning trip with one called Urquiza for about €20. You can see all the routes and prices here.
Shortly before our 8:30 departure, we left our accommodation and walked a couple of blocks to Rosario’s bus terminal (located here). We boarded on time and headed west through the deep South American hinterland.

A while after leaving the city, we were swallowed by a thick fog that clung to the road like a ghostly curtain. Rain fell steadily—sometimes in sheets, sometimes in whispers—but always there, blurring the edges of everything. The landscape was a seemingly endless stretch of flat plains, broken only by the occasional factory or a piece of idle agricultural machinery rusting in the wet morning light. Every so often, a lone tree or a distant grain silo emerged from the mist. It wasn’t scenic in the postcard sense, but there was something hypnotic about the monotony, a quiet rhythm to the vast emptiness.
Accounting for a lunch break and stops in various godforsaken little towns, the trip lasted exactly 7 hours. Córdoba, too, was engulfed in fog and rain when we stepped out of the station in the late afternoon. We took an Uber to the lovely apartment we’d call home over the next week we’d spend exploring this vivid city.
