Cocora Valley is one of Colombia’s most recognizable landscapes, located near Salento in the Quindío department. It lies within Los Nevados National Natural Park and is known for its towering wax palms, the national tree of Colombia. The valley combines open green slopes, cloud forest, and mountain trails, forming a classic hiking circuit that draws visitors year-round.
We hiked the full loop during our stay in Salento in February 2026. We set out early and followed the trail clockwise, moving through open valleys and higher forest sections. The weather held steady, and the views stayed clear most of the way. We stopped often to take photos along the route before finishing the loop.
