Nea Makri is a small town located on the east coast of Attica and belonging to the municipality of Marathon. With its long, sandy beach and the numerous cafes, bars, and restaurants found along the beach's length, it makes a great destination for a day trip from Athens. Coming down from the mountains towards the sea in search of a beach, we ended up in Itea, a town located on the north coast of the Gulf of Corinth.
