Right at the point where Geba River makes its exodus into the Atlantic Ocean lies Bissau, the capital city of Guinea Bissau, former Portuguese Guinea. Its old, neglected, rotting colonial structure renders it reminiscent of a ghost town. A ghost town, however, teeming with life and high hopes of recovery from the decades-long hardships the country has been experiencing.
