After two days of exploring Bukhara, it was time to return to Samarkand and continue on to Zaamin National Park. On our way from Samarkand to Bukhara, we took a shared taxi for 100,000 som per person. It was undeniably fast—perhaps a bit too fast. The driver’s reckless driving could give you a heart attack long before an actual crash occurred. So this time we opted to try the bus.

We took the bus from this bus station in the north outskirts of the city. We purchased the ticket on the spot for 90,000 som. After all, it wasn’t significantly slower than the shared taxi but still safer (at least for us on it and around it). It was more comfortable, equipped with AC, and the staff handed out free water, croissants, and biscuits. I would prefer it again over a shared taxi if I were to do the same trip.
If you would prefer a private transfer with a hotel pickup, you can arrange it here.
