Ambalavao is a town situated in the Haute Matsiatra region of Madagascar, known for its cultural heritage, traditional crafts, and scenic landscapes. The town is renowned for its production of Antaimoro paper, a handmade paper crafted from the bark of indigenous plants using traditional methods. Additionally, Ambalavao hosts a vibrant market where visitors can purchase locally produced crafts, textiles, and spices. The town’s surrounding areas feature picturesque landscapes, including the Anja Community Reserve, where visitors can encounter troops of ring-tailed lemurs in their natural habitat.
