On the second day of our motorbike trip from Hua Hin, and after having spent the night in Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, we headed to Kui Buri National Park where we were going to camp for this night.
In order to get there, we left the motorway at the village of Ban Nong Mu, 2 km north from Kui Buri city (junction coordinates: 12.0935, 99.8537) and followed the road 3217 for some 20 km until the Yang Chum Lake. This lake was really picturesque, too, and we got to enjoy some of the astounding views surrounding it.
We continued for about 5 more km west and reached the Ban Yan Sue Lake where the headquarters of Kui Buri National Park is located. Just like all the country’s national parks, this was also closed during our visit due to the Coronavirus lockdown.
There is an official camping ground located in the headquarters premises, but even if that was open, we weren’t intending to pay a camping fee, of course. We drove to the lake, along the dam, and down to the shore where we spotted an idyllic little camping spot.
Especially compared to our previous one in Sam Roi Yot, we had a lovely evening time and night sleep without mosquitos and endless itchy sweating. The morning was also excellent by the profoundly quiet lakeshore. Other than a local farmer who came to check on his cows – and greet us by the way – we had the lake all to ourselves. We spent a few lazy hours and got back onto the bike to head to Pran Buri Lake which was our next destination.
