Rimini is a city located on the Adriatic coast of the Emilia Romagna region in Italy. It is mostly known for its 15 km long sandy beach, which makes it one of the most popular seaside resorts in Europe. Rimini has over 1.000 hotels in order to accommodate the vast crowds of holiday-makers swarming to the city every summer, and thousands of restaurants and bars to feed them and entertain them.
Rimini is also a city with rich history and cultural heritage. It has been continuously thriving ever since it was founded by the Romans in 268 BC. Some of its most significant sites are the Arch of Augustus and Bridge of Tiberius.
We arrived there on a hot summer day while on a cycling trip in Italy. The original plan was to find some cheap place to stay over for a couple of days. But unluckily, every reasonably-priced place turned out to be fully booked. Alternatively, we rode to the west out of the city and ended up camping in the middle of a random, quiet field. You will see in this album a few pictures I took that day while being in the city and its surroundings. You may here read the whole story of what happened on that day of the cycling trip.
