Has anyone ever happened to be marveling at the sunset from the Acropolis of Athens, and wondered what’s that haughty mountain in the background, behind which the sun is plunging? That’s the all-renown Mount Cithearon: Dionysus’ sacred mountain and dwelling of his Bacchae priestesses; the cradle of young Oedipus; the site of one of Hercules’ earliest feats; and the hosting place of so much exquisite natural beauty. That’s the mountain I escaped to on that splendid, spring morning, and I here drop you the best images I captured.
